چکیده

Speech recognition should be as an eyes-free and handsfree interface. To realise this technology, we need to clarify acoustics in a helmet and determine how much highlevel riding noise affects captured speech data. This paper describes the acoustics in a helmet and transfer functions of the microphone position. We constructed a data collection system and collected the speech data of motorbike riders on city roads and express highways. Speech recognition experiments were conducted and we obtained a recognition rate high of 83.1%.

A Database for Automatic Persian Speech Emotion Recognition: Collection, Processing and Evaluation

Abstract   Recent developments in robotics automation have motivated researchers to improve the efficiency of interactive systems by making a natural man-machine interaction. Since speech is the most popular method of communication, recognizing human emotions from speech signal becomes a challenging research topic known as Speech Emotion Recognition (SER). In this study, we propose a Persian em...

Force-Sensing Glove System for Measurement of Hand Forces during Motorbike Riding

Accurate measurement of hand forces in motorbike riding is highly desirable for studies of safe riding. In this paper, we implement a force-sensing glove system for measuring real-time hand forces during motorbike riding with the aim of giving feedback to the riders. It consists of a pair of gloves with tactile sensors suitably mounted and configured for data acquisition via a wireless smartpho...

Impact of Noise on Hearing Amongst Commercial Motor Bike Riders in Benin- City, Nigeria

The ambient noise level and noise-induced hearing impairment (NIHI) in 200 motorbike riders from six motorbike parks were evaluated. All were males aged between 2062 years. Subjects were sampled using a cluster sampling technique. Parameters measured were environmental noise using the noise meter (peters) and hearing function using an audiometer (amplaid). A control group of 150 males was selec...

Why Do Some Motorbike Riders Wear a Helmet and Others Don't? Evidence from Delhi, India

Why Do Some Motorbike Riders Wear a Helmet and Others Don’t? Evidence from Delhi, India We focus on helmet use behavior among motorbike users in Delhi. We use a detailed data set collected for the purpose of the study. To guide our empirical analysis, we rely on a simple model in which drivers decide on self-protection and self-insurance. The empirical findings suggest that risk averse drivers ...

Developing a Standardized Medical Speech Recognition Database for Reconstructive Hand Surgery

Fast and holistic access to the patients’ clinical record is a major requirement of modern medical decision support systems (DSS). While electronic health records (EHRs) have replaced the traditional paper-based records in most healthcare organization, the data entry into these systems remains largely manual. Speech recognition technology promises substitution of the more convenient speech-base...
